Come serve, love,

and grow with us!

First Meridian Heights is ready to welcome you as you are. There's no judgment here and no anxiety about fitting in. Wear your Sunday best or your favorite jeans. Sit wherever you are most comfortable. Read from the bulletin or from the screens. Bring your coffee into the sanctuary (and grab a snack for your kids). Do you prefer hymns? We sing those. Do you prefer contemporary worship songs? We sing those too. Being together in worship is more important to us than our worship "preferences," so we mix things up and show our love for each other by being open to new-and old-things.

We're definitely not a cookie-cutter congregation. Some of us know the Bible really well. Others are still a little afraid of it. Some of us have been in church all our lives. Others found faith later in life. Still others are recovering from church-inflicted hurt and have found FMHPC to be a place of healing. Some of us sing with the Indianapolis Men's Chorus (well, one of us), the Indianapolis Opera (another one of us), and/or our worship band. Others make a joyful noise as best we can. Some of us are life-long Presbyterians who value the Presbyterian form of government and Reformed theology. Others can't quite spell Presbyterian and don't fully understand what it means. We're a healthy mixture of perspectives and backgrounds and love welcoming new folks into the mix.

FMHPC is ready for you!

After these past few years, aren't you ready for us?

After the chaos and changes of the past few years, how do we even begin to process what we've lost, how we've changed, or how we feel? Well, it's not going to be easy (or quick), but you are welcome to come here to lay down your grief and fatigue and be filled with God's healing peace. Come find meaning and purpose as a disciple of Jesus Christ. Come wrestle with God's call to pursue justice, anti-racism, reconciliation, inclusion, and peace. Come hear God's promise that you are God's beloved child. Come discern how to offer God's healing love to a hurting world. Come with your kids or grandkids so they will learn who they are and whose they are. Come sit. Come breathe. Come listen. Come be filled. Come connect. Come serve, love, and grow. We're ready to welcome you!

Peace and Grace to you,

Rev. Kim Olson (she/her/hers)
