Rev. Kim Olson (she/her/hers) came to FMHPC after serving in other settings as pastor, associate pastor, teacher, chaplain, and youth leader. Raised in San Diego, Kim earned a B.A. from Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts, an M.A. in Latin American History from the University of Texas, Austin, and a Master of Divinity degree from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia. Kim has three children: Maya lives and works in Chicago; Anna is pursuing a PhD in social psychology at the University of California, Santa Cruz; and Graham is at Ball State University. Kim shares her home with Medli, a high-strung, 7-year-old Staffordshire Terrier mix.
"This congregation is awesome! They are full of creativity, imagination, commitment, and a desire to serve. From the outside the church may look very formal and traditional, but on the inside you will find a very fun, welcoming, faithful, inquisitive, and laid-back family of faith."

I was born and raised in Hendricks County, just west of Indianapolis. This is where my mom, brother, and two sisters currently reside with our family dogs! I currently live in Anderson with my fur-baby, Milo (he’s a 7-month-old miniature dachshund). I graduated from Cascade High School in 2019. For my undergraduate degree, I studied Christian Ministries, Spanish, and Religion and Diversity at Anderson University. I will be continuing my education at AU in the spring when I start my graduate program in Theological Studies.
I have always had a passion to serve the community and the Church. I have spent many hours helping prepare and serve meals to the unhoused population of Indianapolis. I have also spent many years volunteering in the Children’s Ministry at my home church through being a sponsor, Sunday school teacher, camp counselor, and so much more. For the past two years, I have partnered with Fishers of Men Ministries in Tepetlixpa, Mexico serving as a teacher. I plan on continuing this partnership for many years to come. I am so excited to be part of the FMH family and to get the opportunity to pour into and serve the children and youth at FMH!

I was born and raised in Knoxville, TN and graduated from Johnson University in the spring of 2022 with a degree in Family Studies. My husband and I recently moved to Jamestown, IN and have now been living here for the past year and half. I love spending time outside, playing sports, playing board games, cooking, and spending time with my dog and cat!

The Presbyterian Book of Order submits, “As there were in Old Testament times elders for the government of the people, so the New Testament church provided persons with particular gifts to share in discernment of God’s Spirit and governance of God’s people. Accordingly, congregations should elect persons of wisdom and maturity of faith, having demonstrated skills in leadership and being compassionate in spirit….” (Matt. 20:25)
