Dave was born in Indianapolis and graduated from high school in Fairland, Indiana. He served 4 years in the US Navy and is a Vietnam Veteran. He earned an associate’s degree from Ivy Tech in Agriculture Equipment with Industrial Option Technology. He completed the 4-year apprenticeship program for sheet metal.
Dave worked for 36 years for Snodgrass Sheet Metal Company. The last 20 years he was a Project Manager. Among his many projects were the Hoosier Dome, Lucas Oil Stadium, and Eli Lilly & Co. He retired in 2016.
In addition to home construction projects for family and friends, Dave’s interests include IU basketball, IU football, camping, and hiking. When his sons were growing up, he was a Scout Master for Troop 236 for 4 years.
Dave was a member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church for many years where he served as an Elder and as the Infrastructure (Buildings and Grounds) Chair.
Dave and his late wife had 2 sons. Dave is now married to Ruth Ann Hankins who has a son and a daughter. Together, Dave and Ruth Ann have 8 grandchildren.
