“I’m beyond grateful for the privilege of serving with this wonderful, welcoming congregation! I’m excited about FMHPC’s commitment to the neighborhood and to being a good neighbor in a variety of ways. I love how folks can truly be themselves here, without judgment, without anxiety about fitting in. We worship in a very old building, yet the Spirit is moving here in many new and surprising ways!”

The Presbyterian Book of Order submits, “As there were in Old Testament times elders for the government of the people, so the New Testament church provided persons with particular gifts to share in discernment of God’s Spirit and governance of God’s people. Accordingly, congregations should elect persons of wisdom and maturity of faith, having demonstrated skills in leadership and being compassionate in spirit….”  (Matt. 20:25)
