Where To Park:
- From street parking on Central Avenue, you can enter through the large doors at the top of the stairs.
- You may pull into 47th Street, between the church and the school grounds on the south. (Check that picture again.) Use any of the spaces open on 47th, next to the church, or pull into the lot on the school grounds.
- From 47th, head for the doors under the bright blue awnings.
Why We Come:
We all came here for the first time at some point. But what keeps us coming back?
- Whether you are early, on time or late, you are always welcomed as if you showed up at exactly the right time.
- Your kids are welcome to participate in any program, even if they haven’t ever been here before…we’ll find a place for them if they want to take part. If not, we have activity bags, and they are welcome to stay with you.
- Because our kids are so important, our paid child care staff undergoes a criminal background check and reference checks. Even our volunteers working with the youth submit to background checks and participate in an annual Child Protection Training.
- Wear what you want. Casual, semi-casual, or dressy. Just be comfortable and come as you are.
- Your presence will not be ignored. We promise not to announce your presence to the congregation (unless of course, you want that), but you will be welcomed.
Common Practices:
- We use a translation of the Bible called THE MESSAGE. It brings the Bible to life for two different types of people: those who haven’t read the Bible because it seemed too distant and irrelevant and those who have read the Bible so much that it had become “old hat.”
- Communion is celebrated 7 times each year. It is our practice that all believers in Christ are invited to partake. An usher guides us row by row to go to the front. You may tear off a piece of bread and proceed to the side to dip the bread in juice on the way back to your seat. Those who prefer to be served in their pew remain seated, and we come to you.
- Collection plates for offerings are located in the back of the sanctuary and on the side near the front. All donations are welcomed and used to support our mission.
