Worship & The Second Course

WORSHIP BEGINS AT 10:00 a.m.

WHAT TO WEAR?

Your Sunday best or your favorite jeans or whatever is comfortable.

WHERE TO PARK & ENTER?

Parking is available on 47th Street,

between the church and SchooI 70 on the south side of the street, as well as in the school parking lot. From 47th Street, walk to the double wooden doors under the blue awning to enter the church. Once you enter, go up the stairs and turn left toward the Sanctuary.

Street parking is also available on Central Avenue.

If you park there, you may enter through the large church doors at the top of the steps and you will find yourself at the back of the sanctuary.

Not able to use stairs?

Please park on 47th Street near the blue awnings. To the right of the wooden doors and blue awning there is another blue awning covering a ramp that leads down to glass doors.  Enter there and the elevator is on your left. Take the elevator inside to “Floor 2 – Main Level.” When the elevator doors open, the Sanctuary will be directly ahead of you.

WHERE TO SIT?

Sit wherever you are most comfortable.

Follow the service from the bulletin (available at either entrance) or from the screens.

COFFEE?

Coffee is available at the 47th St. entrance (2nd floor).

You may bring your coffee into the sanctuary (and grab a snack for your kids).

WHAT IS WORSHIP LIKE?

Do you prefer hymns? We sing those. Do you prefer contemporary worship songs? We sing those too. Being together in worship is more important to us than our worship "preferences," so we mix things up and show our love for each other by being open to new-and old-things.  The order of worship is based on the Service for the Lord's Day from the Presbyterian Book of Common Worship.

COMMUNION

is celebrated the first Sunday of each month.

All believers in Christ are invited to participate in the Lord's Supper.

CHILDREN DURING WORSHIP

Children are welcome in the Sanctuary at any time.

We provide childcare and Children's Church for parents who wish to use those options.

Nursery (For infants through un-pottytrained 3 year olds) - This room is located on the way in to the Sanctuary from the 47th Street entrance. Our nursery caregiver is the wonderful Ms. Rachel who warmly welcomes our children and sets parents’ minds at ease. Children may be dropped off before worship or may begin with their parents in the Sanctuary and dropped off with Ms. Rachel during the Passing of the Peace or following the Children's Message.

Elementary School  - All elementary children should begin the morning in worship with their adult caregivers (parents, grandparents, etc.). After the Children's Message or the Passing of the Peace, children third grade and younger are welcome to go to Children's Church in the 3rd floor Children's Church room with Ms. Julie.

Books, crayons, pens, children's worship bulletins, and other activities are located at both entrances to the Sanctuary.
